Help me organize my set-up

I have a set of lightly used 10-yr old Angstrom towers (Radix 400), A set of PSB mid-size unidentified floor speakers also about 10 years old and lightly used, a set of new epos ELS 3 shelf speakers and a set of new KEF IQ3 shelf speakers.

I have an evolving home theater with an AKAI 50"Plasma, a Yamaha RX-V861B receiver, a Rotel-RCD-955AX CD player, a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD PVR, a Panasonic DVD-S53 DVD player and an 80G iPOD.

I was thinking of setting up the Angstroms and Kef speakers for audio-only in my living room, with the PSBs and the EPOS speakers as TV support and part-time music in my kid-dominated family room.

ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS NOTION???

What will you be using as a center channel in the family room? Phantom or are you willing to add a new one to the system?

I was thinking of a 4-speaker set-up using two bookshelf and either the tower PSBs or Angstroms. I do not have a center speaker per se. I need at least one set of towers for my living room music set-up, which would be supported (most likely) by the KEF iQ3s. I can't really have a high-volume family theatre as my kids are 3, 5 and 7 years old...and I am never home without at least one kid in the room.

Let's say you use the Angstrom in the living room and the PSB as fronts and the KEF as surrounds in the family room, you could use just one of the EPOS as a center channel. This will likely give you clearer dialog than having just a phantom center channel. It's still a bit of a Frankenstein solution, but it would be better than nothing and it's free.
