Help Me Decide On A Receiver

I am looking for a receiver that will have good sound quality at lower volumes. Because of where my family room is located I will not be able to "crank" it up at night without waking everyone. Are there any receivers or receiver/speaker combos that will fit the bill? I can spend $800-$1200 on the receiver. So far I am leaning towards the following:

Sub: Infinity PS212 (already own)
F/R: Jamo 6.5K4 (in ceiling)
CC: Jamo 515K4 or Infinity PC350

Receiver? I have been recommended the Onkyo SR805, Yamaha V1800, and the Denon AVR2808CI. All seem like good receivers but which one will provide the best sound quality at lower volumes? Or is there another option I should consider in the same price range?

Is there some sort of rating or standard I should be looking for that will help determine low volume sound quality?

They will all sound the same really; it's your speakers that will impact the sound. That said, I'm a fan of Onkyo and Yamaha receivers. Go with the one that has the features you want and the best price.

Speaker options

For better performance, consider In-wall speakers for the front and center channels vs. in-ceiling.

Or even better, in room.:D

Seriously, any of those receivers is going to sound great at lower volumes and higher volumes. If you don't do high level output listening why not get a less expensive receiver with the features you need. You won't likely need preouts for external amplification if you do low level listening with in-walls or in-ceiling speakers. You won't need the extra power that each of these receivers offers.

Basically any receiver around the $400 has a ton of connections and features that most people would never dream of using, and they still sound just as good as the higher models.

If you decide that in-ceiling is your option, your CC has to be the Jamo. If you go with the Infinity timbre will not match.
