This is all for a friend replacing his Bose surround sound system with the acousticmass 9.
He already has the following.
PS3 and Yamaha RX-V667
Tv room is 10' X 12' but has an open wall into dining room which is 10' X 14'

Now I need to decide on the following for him budget is around $500

1) Infinity Primus™ Theater 5-pack II
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108PT5PIIB/Infinity-Primus-Theater-5-pack-II.html?search=infinity+primus
and
BIC Acoustitech H-100 subwoofer
http://www.amazon.com/Acoustech-H-100-Front-Firing-Subwoofer-High-Gloss/dp/B0006DNW6U

2) MartinLogan MLT-2
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049P2000/sr=8-1/qid=1309755913/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1309755913&sr=8-1&seller=

I dont like how the sub only goes to 37HZ for MLT-2

3) Energy 5.1
http://www.amazon.com/Energy-Classic-Theater-System-Black/dp/B001202C44/ref=sr_1_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1309794194&sr=1-1&tag=533633834-20

I dont like how ports on speakers on in rear since speakers will be mounted on wall also sub is only 8"

thanks

If you want boom and boom - then the Bic should boom. If it does come
close to 24hz - then it will be with some distortation. The choice is yours
to make. The Bose is no competition for any of your list.

Choice 1 is the way to go here. Not sure on BIC subs, but it will be way better than what he has been hearing.

I told him to go with option 1 but to get the BIC Acoustitech subwoofer PL-200
instead of the H-100, its a little more money for a better sub.
I believe he ordered everything today I will follow up on how it all sounds once setup.

thanks again
