Help Me Decide Between Two 37" LCD TVs

I can afford one or the other:

A ViewSonic N3760W 37" 1080i LCD ($1000 after rebate)

A Westinghouse Westinghouse LVM-37W3 1080p LCD ($1400)

Which would you choose and why? (Thank yiu so much for helping this dummy out!)

I have no experience with either of the displays you mention. I do want to point out that there are other choices available at the price point you mention. For example, the Vizio L37 ($999), the Syntax Olevia 537 ($1000 ish), to name a few.

I've never seen the Viewsonic, but I have the Westinghouse LVM-42W2 and it's a great TV. I got lucky and bought it at Best Buy for $1499 on sale about 4 months ago during a 12 hour sale they were having. Have you visually looked at each of them in person? I would do that if I were you, that's a lot of money on a blind choice. If you do, make sure to factor in the cables they're connected with and bring your own video material to even the playing fields on both. Also factor in the inputs on both as to what you need now and what you'll possibly need in the future before you upgrade again. Good luck.

I have the Westinghouse LVM37W1 and it's a great monitor, the W3 is supposed to be even better.

There is not actually such a thing as a native 1080i panel, that Viewsonic is actually 768p.
