Help in setting up speakers in multiple rooms with Denon 4200W

I've setup my Home theatre as a 7.1 system using the Denon 4200W receiver, but can't figure out how to setup speakers in two different rooms for music as separate zones.

With my previous Onkyo receiver, I wired in the speakers in the other rooms as zone 1 and zone 2. With the 4200W, the back speaker panel doesn't have a spot for zones 1 and 2. There are speaker outputs for front wide and front high, but there is no place to connect speakers in another room.

I'd appreciate advice on how to connect the speakers in two other rooms (have wiring and binding posts for the speakers in other rooms beside the receiver).

If your running 7.1 you will need an external amp and use the preouts for zones.

Yep, only a 7ch amp so you'll need external amps for the zones. Your Onkyo had more channels of amplification or you used other than a 7.1 setup with it? What speakers are you using in your zones? Are they used for primarily background music or?

If you're running 5.1 in your main room, and running two additional zones, then yes, you'll need an additional 2-ch amp connected to the pre-outs.

Also, in the menu settings, you should be able to find amp-assign under the speakers section. From there you can tell your receiver that you're running the different zones as opposed to bi-amp or 7.1.
