Hi everyone,
this is my first post, and I'd like to start it off with a question. Sorry - already did a search but did not find much of what I was looking for....
In my living room, I have an htpc hooked up to my arcam delta 290, which power the pair of axiom m22tis (yeah, i don't have surround but i'm more of a music/stereo guy i guess). it also has a decent low-end yamaha 8" sub. Sounds great - the arcam is very detailed and clean, but leans a tad to the bright/sterile side.
Upstairs, I have the sonic impact super t-amp, which sounded ultra smooth, punchy, and warm on the m22tis - although it didn't have the precise detail that the delta 290s had.
I was planning on getting the axiom M3tis for my upstairs bedroom system, but I saw an ad at fry's today - the Polk Audio R30 floorstanding speakers for $80/pair.
I had the idea of using the polks for the htpc, and moving the M22s up to my bedroom.
Any advice? I've read general good reviews on the polk audio R30s, but I'm curious on how they stack up against the axiom m22tis. The arcam is incredibly sharp and detailed, which works out with the m22s well, but is not very warm and musical. very sterile and clinical. I'm hoping the polks would warm up the sound, but I'm also afraid it'll be a step down from the axiom m22s.
Anyone care to comment? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
