Since I have this Yamaha receiver lying around I thought I would try to bi-amp today. I'm trying to bi-amp my Pioneer Rsx Elite-81 as my main receiver and my Yamaha RSV-1400 as a pre. This is just for my front speakers. I tried connecting the cables to the pre-outs from the Poineer to the multi channel Input terminals on the Yamaha. I think the connection from the yamaha is the problem. It Didn't work- What am i missing. Do I need to set the Pioneer on Multic channel in? and the yamaha to a specific mode? Any help would be great.

You need to feed that preamp output to the two main/power amps.

You have to connect the preamp outputs on the first unit to the power/main amp inputs on the second unit.

Depending on the units, you may have to jumper the preamp outs back into the power/main amp inputs on the first unit.

Aldo, depending on the units, this might now work at all. RTFM for more specific details.

The manuals are no help at all. Just a diagram, but no direction on the settings on either receiver/amp once connected. The connections are not right, so I'll have to wait to see if anyone has done this on similar receivers. Any more suggestions on wiring/settings?
