Hello Home Theather gurus. I am looking for some speaker recommendations for my new basement home theater. The majority of the time in the room (90%) or more will be spent watching movies. The projector of choice will be the Epson 3020, Receiver Yamaha, Acoustic screen by Elite and Samsung bdp6500 Blu Ray player. I am looking for some decent speakers perhaps middle of the road. The configuraton will be 7.1. Help me Home Theather Gurus!!!

Welcome, whats your budget and room dimensions...

Check out ascend acoustics CMT340se for front sound stage then htm200se for surrounds and rears...

For a sub depending on your budget and room size, HSU VTF2 or 3.... You can't lose...

My room size is 24x14 and my budget for speakers and sub is $1500-$1800. I would like to go with in wall in the front, in ceiling for the mids, and two rear speakers mounted in the rear.

Middle of the road could mean something to every person reading this. Like ImcLoud said, you need to tell us your budget and room dimensions to get any worthwhile recommendations.

For a dedicated theater, I'd look at something like these:

JTR SpeakersÂ*|Â*Professional Audio Speakers

And make sure you don't skimp on the subs (yes, more than one).

edit: <EDIT>of course you have to put up that information just before I hit submit :D

I don't know who makes quality in-wall/in-celing speakers, so I don't feel comfortable putting my two cents in on that.

I will say that $1500 for 7 speakers and a sub is going to be a pretty big stretch. I could see putting that much alone on a pair of PB12-NSD - SVS subs.

I would suggest taking it down from a 7.1 to a 5.1 system, if only to not split up the budget so many different ways.

The Ascend suggestion is good, if you're willing to move away from in-wall/in-celing. I considered a pair of 340s before going with their Sierra-1s for my L-C-R and they do pretty well for my non-reference SPL level movie watching.

I find it odd that you chose the exact same speakers I have. Especially since you just sent me a pm asking how I like them and have obviously never heard them :p

Look at Monitor Audio - 3 each
Monitor Audio Bronze In-Wall Speaker (CPW BR) Priced Each

Also, look at Atlantic Technology - 3 each > and a good deal
