I dont know what happened. We came home one night and the power had gone out. the next morning, the reciever wont power up. It has two power buttons, one allows power to flow through the reciever, the other actually turns the unit on. It has power flowing through it, but the unit wont turn on when i press the button. I have tried unplugging it for a while to see if anything resets, but so far nothing is working. I'm thinking im gonna have to take it into circuit city where i bought it to get it fixed. Maybe somebody out there knows something about harmon kardon and can tell me whats wrong. thanks in advance for any help

This might be a case to illustrate the value of a good line conditioner/surge protector. Without knowing anything about the unit in question, it sounds like a surge or spike may have taken it out.

Hopefully an internal fuse caught the voltage spike. If there's no tape on the housing, open it up and check for any blown fuses near the power supply. If you don't see anything, take it to CC. There were nasty storms all over this past week.
