hi guys...im just a newbie in this world of audio and video theme...im planning to purchase an entry level AVR and home entertainment system that is cheap but realiable for my small home. Im choosing from a pioneer vsx-D814-S or Denon 1705 or an Onkyo HT-670. Since all are almost of the same price here im wondering which of the 3 will best suit my needs...pls help me decide which system to buy and please also post the pros and cons regarding your choice...thanks very much for the help and im already looking forward for a beautiful sights and sounds galore this coming x'mass. :)

to add to your choices, check out yamaha ...

in the order of value for money, i think it's:
yamaha/pioneer (all the bells and whistles you need)
onkyo
denon (most expensive)

Entry level Yamaha

You should be able to find an entry level Yamaha HTR-5860 for about $200. This should be cheeper than all or most of the receivers on your list. I think that the comparable Onkyo model would be the 502 or 503.
