HELP...Denon 2807 (zone 2) question

OK, maybe I just can't read directions but I'm trying to play my tuner through Zone2 so I can hear it out on my patio. I've turned on Zone2, selected the output (tuner) and connected my speakers to the "front B" connections on the back of the Denon....NO SOUND. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

just a note zone2 normaly cant output spdif, you need to run analog with all of your digital inputs

Zone 2 normally works out of the surround back outputs not the B outputs.

Bandphan is correct that any sources will need to be hooked up using analog connections but your tuner should work when you get the speaker connections correct.

Receiver setting

It looks like you have a 7.1 speaker system. You receiver can do 5.1 + powered zone 2 or 7.1. Your best bet would be to get a small stereo amp to power the zone 2 speakers and connect it to the line level zone 2 output on the receiver.

You could use the A/B speaker switch to allow the outdoor speaker to play the same source as zone 1, but your receiver is designed to drive A OR B and not A AND B speakers.

7.1 was the problem

thanks for the "or" not "and" explanation. now I can stop cussing Denon as the most confusing equipment brand on the plant (although it's probably still true).
