Help deciding on speakers

I am looking at building a 2.1 or 3.1 sound system and I am having trouble choosing speakers. The choices I'm looking at are Axiom M22s and M&K LCR750s, with a Outlaw LFM2 sub, most likely a Denon AVR2307 or AVR2807. While I am demo-ing the M&K soon, I have yet to hear the Axioms.

How are the Axioms, would anyone recommend them? How would they compare to the M&K? I don't read about M&K much in this forum, does no one like M&K here? Any suggestions on speakers and sub are welcome ...

Thanks!

What's your budget? And what will yo be using them for? I ask because I currently have a 2.1 system (no sub yet) but had a powered Cerwin Vega Sub with it for awhile. My setup is in my sig and I cannot say enough how much I am impressed with the sound of my little Paradigms. They were $800, then another $500 for the receiver, but damn are they crisp and full.

I am about to start building my girlfriend a system, and I may be using the Axioms to start her off with.

If your budget is not that big of a deal, I would go Yamaha RX-V2600, 2 Paradigm Studio 40's, and your SVS sub of choice. By that right there is easily 3 Grand.

I have been watching audiogon and ebay for some deals. A brand new set of Studio 20's like mine went for $455 plus shipping, and there were a set of 40's that went for right over $700.

Best to hear them for yourself. The Axiom forum has a list of owners who will let you demo their system.

After a demo with some M&K LCR750s, I decided to pick up the LCR750s with a Denon AVR2807. I will be adding a matching center and ordering a sub, probably an Outlaw LFM-2 or SVS equiviliant. My setup will be used primarily for movies and games and the M&Ks rock! They sound similar to def techs, but a little more refined! Thanks guiys for your input; plus the receiver and speakers I got were on an offer I couldn"t refuse. I'll post a review as soon as I get get everything hookup. I will probably try out bluejeanscable as well.

There are a couple of M&K owners here (myself, Jack Hammer), but many more people own the Axioms. That's probably because the bang for the buck ratio is higher with the axioms, and they don't need as beefy an amp to drive them (all but the M80 are 8 ohm), whereas your 750's aren't full towers and are 4 ohm. You don't see many Magnepan owners here either. To each his own.

Enjoy them and let us know when you get them all hooked up! :)
