Ok...I know most of you probalby hate all in ones, especially lower end ones, but that's what I'm looking for. I work at a place called XS Cargo in Canada which is basically a place for refurbished products and surplus kind of thing. Well, I get some pretty good deals on the products we sell and I'm interested in a couple of the products. BUT I don't want to get something that's a total piece of poop at all, I'd like a basic system with a solid receiver that I would kinda be able to expand on later, something I'd want for a little while.
So here's the two I'm interested in:
Pioneer 1000W HTP-2500 - We sell for $199 CD
Pioneer 600W w/DVD player HTD540DV - We sell for $299 CD
Not positive of the deal I cna get but it's actually usually close to 50% off. I don't need the DVD player, could you use it I guess, but I'm really interested in getting a solid receiver. I have 4 tower speakers and two bookshelfs available which I would probalby wire up to it. The one thing I don't like aobut the 2500 is that it does not have a sub preout, and I'm finding it hard to find a passive subwoofer as a replacement because I don't think the one that comes with it will satisfy me. I'd kinda like to be able to add a sub if I'm not happy with the amount of bass I'm getting from the system.
Blahblahblah....I really just want to know YOUR OPINIONS on this matter. Or do you think this would be a complete waste of money for me? I'd like to know what would be better quality and value? please try not to say "these just suck too much either" haha. I need help ASAP before their both sold out. Ok, i'll stop blabbing on, I'd really appreciate YOUR HELP. Thanks, Phil

Oops, also I currently have a Marantz 1530 stereo amp that I inherited, great quality but I'd like more power (basssss) and the full surround effect. I'd like to possibly wire this to my new system through an analog out. Opions on this amp or connectiing it at all?

ALSO... you can check out the specs on the above systems at pioneerelectronics.com orrr through a google search. Also, check out xscargo.com...there's a pioneer subwoffer and pioneer bookshelf there that I can get a great deal on any good?
Lol, sorry for so many questions. Thans agian, Phil

HTIB and sub connection

Concerning the Pioneer HTIB, I wouldn't buy it. It sounds like you would get them for half price so you'd be spending about $100 to 150 canadian and you already have the speakers.
I would look for a refurbished onkyo or denon receiver from authorized resellers like ecost. You should also be able to get a new Yamaha HTR-5840 for less than $200 US. There are frequently deals on last years model like the HTR-5740.

Concerning the sub connection, you have options if you buy the correct kind of subwoofer. All active subwoofers have a line level RCA connection. Some also have speaker level inputs and outputs. You can connect the speaker level sub inputs to the main L/R speaker outputs on a stereo receiver or HTIB and connect the speaker outputs on the sub to the main L/R speakers. In this configuration, the dial on the sub will set the crossover frequency with the main speakers.
