Trying to decide between the above listed AV receivers. Have 10yr old Yamaha..never a problem. Working with PS3, Def Tech bi-polar towers and surrounds, about to purchase either Samsung 950 HDTV or Sony XBR8 (when prices come down a bit!). Enjoy listening to great music and family loves to watch movies. Seeking the best of both worlds. Suggestions?
Thanks for the thoughts.;)

I am a big fan of the 3808 but heck, if I didn't have a budget, I would of went with the 4308. I was not impressed with my 3800 but the 3900 seems to do everything I was looking for, it just wasn't out yet.

All of these are very good AVRs, just pick the one that has the features you need. They should all power the DTs about the same.

Oh....and it's nice to have another DFW guy here, I thought I was the only one.

Thanks ParadigmDawg

It is good to be in Big D. Transplant from Baton Rouge.
There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of opinionated differences amongst these receivers. I have been awaiting the review of the RX-Z7 for some time...taking quite a bit of time for some reason. Have that older Yamaha that has treated me well throughout the years. Looking to step it up a notch.
Anywho, thanks for the feedback.

I have used Yamaha since the mid 80's but when I upgraded to the 3800 it left a bad taste in my mouth with its inability to overlay 1080p, poor GUI and inability to assign the 12v. triggers. I took my first stab at Denon about 5 months ago and have never looked back. My needs only consisted of the things that the 3800 was missing as I use outboard amps and all my sources are 1080 so I don't care about the video section of AVRs.
