Help. Caps leaking?

I recently bought a Denon avc-a1sra(5803) and today I took the top off to check it out.
Whats the white stuff round the main caps?
Are they leaking or what.

No, they aren't leaking. That just composite holding the caps on the board. Capacitors are usually tall and obstructive, so they need something more than just a couple of solder contacts to hold them firmly in place. You need not worry.

Well, besides jokes about "hard objects" and poking
This is examples how leaking caps look like:

I was able to re-solder HP xw9300 motherboard to change 4 caps - result - boot on first attempt.

p.s: Actually besides the caps with arrows - other caps with golden stripe (made by Nichicon) also about to pop
Only two back caps on front are perfectly good.

Leaking caps, not as common as one would think, or more common than one would think. My logic is infallible.

Old age and over-voltage are about the only reasons caps go bad, other than being wired backward. That white stuff is definitely not from the inside.

From time to time there are also issues with counterfeits that end up in the supply chain with China production. Since they're substandard parts, they tend to fail rather quickly while operating under what should be "normal" conditions. A lot of motherboards have been affected in the past; that might be the source of your bad lot of Nichicon's.
