I just got a complete new home theatre setup and I have been trying to decide, unsuccessfully I might add, on a surge supression and power conditioning device. Any and all help on the matter is welcome!
My setup: Sony 60XS955, Studio 100's, ADP470, CC570 and Rotel 1056.
After much research and reading thru a lot of posts in these forums I have narrowed down my choice to:
1.
Brickwall PW2RAUD $205
2.
Furman PST-10D $xxx (supposed to be cheaper than brickwall)
I have read a lot of good reviews about the Bickwall and have not been able to find much information about the Furmans.
Brickwall
---------------------------
Series mode protectection
2 outlets
No coax protecteion
Magnetic shielded steel cabinet
Unswitched outlets
Furman
----------------------
Series mode protection
10 outlets
Coax protection (is this MOV?)
Isolated outlet banks
Extreme voltage shutdown
Switched & unswitched outlets
I don't pretend to understand all of the specs on either of the website and would apprecite any help.
I was wondering if anyone has used both units or can tell me the reason why the Brickwall might be better (and more expensive) than the Furmans.
Thanks.
