Hello everyone I am so new to the audio world but so excited because we are doing a living room remodel and I am finally able to get some quality audio and tv equipment. The problem is I want to make sure that I have good cabling to take advantage of the money I invested in the 58" Plasma and the MartinLogan 5.1 speakers.

All i have ever known is Monster cable but I continue to hear that this is not quality cabling for my type of system. I don't know. Magnolia is recommending Audioquest which seems a bit pricy also.

What I need is middle of the road speaker cable, quality HDMI and component cables for good prices as our remodel is so over budget. The Monster HDMI cables cost me $140 and their component cables cost me about the same. Any other recommended vendors that can be trusted???? BTW this is all in-wall wiring.

Thanks all

STOP! Don't do it! The reason companies want you to buy high-priced cabling is because of its great profit margins for them. I highly recommend you to buy cables online from a reputable source such as Blue Jeans Cables. Or if you want to go cheaper, Monoprice.

There is no problem with the quality of Monster Cables. The problem is with their over-inflated pricing. AudioQuest offers even higher prices with no audible gain. Check on this site for Cable Myths, as Audioholics got it's start debunking high priced, snake-oil selling, cable manufacturers claims.

obscbyclouds is absolutely correct. I buy my subwoofer cables exclusively from bluejeans and my speaker cables and interconnects from monoprice. To the best of my knowledge the only cables that may be worth spending a couple of extra bucks for are the HDMI cables. Someone else can speak to HDMI better than I can because I'm using it yet.

Blue jeans

I recommend you also Blue Jeans cables.
You can read some crusty articles about cables that will for sure convince you.

The price is cracking also (including delivery), good service (prompt answers and follow up).

I received mine today, and will try them this evening. Can't wait !

For IN WALL, I guess they are a nice choice considering they use professional broadcasting cables.
