Help a newbie out on IR extension

Where I live, I have to pay for each individual cable box. So I plan on using one TV cable box to connect to 2 different TVs in different rooms. So now I'm thinking about having an IR extension so I can change the cable box channel from either room (even though cable box is located in one room only).

So Room A has my cable box & TV. Room B only has a TV. So while I am in Room B, what do I need to install to control the cable box in Room A? I can run cables between the 2 rooms as I am in the process of renovating.

I used a leapfrog IR extender from onecall.com. It was like 20 bucks.
They have a optional output for a IR cable that plugs directly into the device.. You have to build this cable yourself though, pretty easy. If you search the forums you will find it.

Simply 2 3.5mm mono mini jacks from Radioshack
1 spool of alarm wire from Radioshack
Solder the wires to the plugs and wala you have a RF cable.

The unit does also come with a stick on IR emiter. So if you are only using it for the cable box, then you should be golden and not have to make your own cable.
