HELP! 2 or 1? or ???

I am finishing my media room as we speak. After the reading reviews and talking to friends, I still have not made up my mind. Here is my dilema...
I want to spend less than 1K for a sub.

Thoughts or suggestions on 2 Emotiva Ultra 12's or 1 Epik Empire.

2 Emo 12's $718 free shipping vs i Epik Empire $799 + $139 shipping $938

I have heard neither and really am going at this blindly. My buddy has a JL Fathom-13. He says save the money and get that. I want one (or two) now. Plus, I cant imagine spending 3-4 times the amount is absolutely worth it.

room size...? open to other rooms or sealed...?

Theater size is 12wX16dX9h. It flows into the bar/poker area that is 12wX14d. In the center of the room is the bottom of the stariwell area. That size is ~10X10.

Basically its a rectangle that is 12X30 with an opening of 10X10 on the left.

Have you considered SVS PC12-Plus ? At $950 + $60 shipping (to my zip) it's on the money - plus it doesn't take much of floor space
