I want to know what is your opinion about the AV123 speakers, more exactly about their RS250 MKII's bookshelves...I want to upgrade my system and I'm considering:Dynaudio Focus 110,Onix RS250 MKII,B&W CM1....what do you think...I have an Exposure 2010 Integrated Amplifier and I'm intending to buy an Rotel RB 1080 Power Amplifier to make a combination(with my small budget)...by the way my source is an Exposure 2010 CD Player....thanks a lot and please sorry for my bad english:).....

AV123 is a fine company and Mark Schifter takes a lot of pride in the products they produce. He is also always available to talk to if you have questions or concerns.

The Rocket RS250 MKII's are a really nice speaker. The craftsmanship, and finish is second to none. Really good looking speakers.
My short review of the RS250 MKII's is this. These are a very warm speaker. My meaning of warm is, these speakers are more laid back. The tweeter is not bright, or fatiguing to the ear. It is clear, detailed and sounded very natural.
The mids are really full of detail, and the speakers imaging is very nice. After hearing these I would really like to hear the larger Rockets.

The B&W CM1's again are very nice looking speakers. Real wood finishes and excellent quality. IMO I think they really look great with the Kevlar driver.
The CM1's are a bit brighter then the RS250's IMO. The tweeter is really smooth, and without harshness, but is slightly forward of being neutral.
Depth and Imaging are again really good with this speaker. These speakers seem to sound large then their size. I really liked these.

Never auditioned Dynaudio's sry.

With AV123's return policy on the Rockets, I would get both and audition in your home.

Maybe in the last couple of years AV123 has shifted towards adopting a less aggressive marketing strategy. But a couple of years ago, AV123 engaged in some REALLY aggressive viral marketing on internet audio forums and that generated a lot of bad blood between many audio enthusiasts and AV123.

I heard about that. But that is not what I have found to be true today.

I have listened to the Dynaudio Focus 110 and 140 bookshelves being powered by an NAD stereo amp and I found them to be lacking detail in the mids. They are not bad speakers but you can find way better stuff for the money imo.

Mazer,

Do you still have those pics of the MTMs and SLSs?

Could you post them?

Thanks. I decide to go with the X-CS, MTMs, SLSs, and X-Sub. Those pictures are beautiful.

How do you like them?

Don't own them. I auditioned the mtm's in my home (well in Majorloser's home) and think they are an excellent speaker.

I'm not a fan of the x-sub. I did audition it in my home.

What are you going to do with both the mtm's and sls's?

What the hell?
I had the mtm's shipped to me, but brought them over to Majorloser's house to his dedicated theater. He doesn't have a lot of friends so I figure I would hang out with him one night. LOL :D

I'm going to use the X-CS as my center channel, the MTMs as my R/L fronts, and the SLSs as R/L rears.

I am in an apartment so I think with the 4 towers and X-Sub; it will be perfect.

I have been impressed with the build quality and customer service from AV123. My Onix Ref 1's sound and look great.

They have a risk free trial of any of their bookshelf speakers including the Rocket 250s, so you might consider trying them out.

Hopefully a couple AV123 products will be included in the bookshelf speaker shootout that Audioholics is working on.

Not telling you what to do. But you might want to research using the x-cs's as surrounds instead of the x-sls's. Unless you don't want to use speaker stands.

I am trying to avoid stands and when you add in the cost of stands the SLSs are a little cheaper.
