This is the type of movie you'd catch on the late, late show (I did, Late Night With Big Wilson on Channel 6, now defunct indie channel in Miami), anyway this movie though entertaining is not for everybody, if you're in your early forties or later you'll get it. The premise: An inventor (Tony Randall) needs guinea pigs to test his underwater dream home, he volunteers his wife (Janet Leigh) his kids and their rock band (featuring a young Richard Dreyfuss) into moving underwater, as they get nestled in their new underwater abode, the usual problems of living underwater show up: hungry sharks, hurricanes, the navy conducting excercises, prospectors and on top of that, the band needs to get a single into the hands of a producer before it's too late. No there's no CGI or anything resembling cool effects, this was filmed here in Miami by famed director/producer Ivan Tors of Flipper fame, but it's a fun story full of nostalgia and clean fun, something's that's rare today. It has a decent cast Tony Randall, Janet Leigh, Jim Backus, Ken Berry, Roddy McDowall and Merv Griffin. 1969 release, runs 97 minutes, widescreen,DD, english mono, $12.50 Amazon.
