Hello
Well I'm about to get my first new TV in about 15 or so years!
The new "TV" is going to be the LG 32PC5RV, now I've been doing a lot of reading (my head hurts!) and do realize that this is only going to be "EDTV". The reasons for my picking this PDP is 1) I'm getting a deal on it (several hundred off) and 2) a 32" is the largest size that will fit my wall unit.
The TV it's going to be replacing is a Panisonic Gaoo which has been very good but with the LG I'm getting will I end up being disapointed in the picture quality?
Hope to learn more here.
Thanks Steve

The advice that I would give is to see if you can do an in-store-demo with your own DVDs to see if the unit will give you a picture that is OK for you. Honestly picture quality has a much with what you're OK with than scientific measurements.

IIRC an EDTV will generally be just fine for watching standard definition TV and your DVDs will also look fine. While TODAY most of what you watch will be fine in a few years when much [most??] of what you see is Hi-Def it won't look nearly as good as a real HD monitor would look.

What price are you looking at getting the unit for? Perhaps there are some 720P / 1080i units that you could look at that wouldn't be too bad????
