I am building a house and will have a home theatre room in my basement that will be 36 ft long and 16 ft wide.
I have the projector and screen in mind. I need help with a good Audio system that will be able to handle the size of my room.
I want to spend around 1,000.00 per pair for my front, bookshelf and back speakers. I want to spend around 800.00 for a good receiver.
I want to spend around 500.00 for a subwoofer.

I am going to get a Harmony remote from Best Buy either the 890 or the 1000.

I was directed to Klipsch F-3, C-2 Synergy speakers, the Harmon Kardon receiver347 and the Klipsch 12" subwoofer by Best Buy associates.

Please help. I want to make sure I get the most for my money.
I am going all out with Soundproofing the walls, setting up acoustical panels, and building stadium seating with 3 steps/stages and I don't want to put in a crappy system.

Of course I do have a budget so I need to stick around the numbers I mentioned with the speakers.

thanks for the help!!

OK I think you will need to spend a little more on a sub to handle that size room.

www.svsound.com

E-mail Tom or Ron and ask for a recommendation on what sub to purchase. They will not oversell you, but help you make an educated decision. Give them room details, and size, and listening preferences.

Run from the Best Buy associates.

Buying things at best buy isn't going to get you the most for your money. I would suggest looking at av123.com and their X-series speakers. They will probably cost the same or as much as the Klipsch you were shown at BB and sound better. Also, look into getting a less expensive remote, that remote would cost more than your sub from a place like BB.

If I'm correct about his budget, I would recommend one of the Rocket packages from AV123

In fact this system

or this system in particular

I had the Harmony 1000 and returned it. It's simple and really, really cool, but just not that convenient. With only the most basic control buttons available, you may find yourself scrolling through pages and pages of menu options to find the button to perform certain functions. The models with more buttons on the front are much more convenient and easier to use, IMO. I eventually settled with a 659 for $80 and I'm much happier than with the 1000.

For $4,300, I would definitely get a pair of the Definitive Technology BP7001SC, 3 of the DefTech SM450, and the Onkyo TX-SR805.

My BP7000SC + SM450 filled my 20 feet x 40 feet HT with EASE! Each of the BP7001SC has a built-in 1,500-Watts RMS 10-inch Subwoofer! So two of them would equal a total of 3,000-Watts RMS of SUBWOOFER! These DefTechs beg for the kind of room size that we have. Each of the SM450 has a passive 10-inch Subwoofer! So your Center and Surround speakers will be VERY bass happy. Read the reviews.
But from my experience, the DefTech SuperTowers are the best. Because of them, I now truly love both music and movies.

The Onkyo 805 seems to have enough power, purity, and features you need. It's THX-Ultra Certified. It has 2 HDMI. It can decode Dolby TruHD and DTS-HD MA. Personally I would go for the upcoming Denon 2808, 3808, or 4308, but they are out of your stated price range.

Have fun!!!!

Budget adjustment

I agree on the budget adjustment. Consider something like this, $1k for front L/C/R speaker, $500 for surround pair, $800-1k for sub(s), $1k for receiver.

Floorstanding speakers would be good for your large HT room. AV123 will have a new MFW-15 (15" ported sub). For $1k, you can get 2 of these which should handle the LFE for you large room. Also check out SVS and HSU subwoofers.

I would consider trading the 1000 buck AVR for a cheaper one and an amp.

Let say; Yamaha 659 and an Emotiva RA1. That should be about 1000 bucks and I believe you would have a better set up.

Dont skimp on the sub; that big room needs a good sub so check with SVS or HSU and see what you need.

The AV123 rocket package would be great.
