Hellboy and Christmas balls

I was setting around bored this afternoon and decided to look through the ol' movie drawer in my living room and see if there was anything I havent watched yet. I had Hellboy in BR so I put it in and boy I tell you what; there is a lot of bass in that one. The Wife already has out her Christmas decor and the christmas balls are making some kind of racket. It is somewhat annoying yet I find myself with a big, goofy grin on my face!

Oh, yeah. Hellboy, Underworld Evolution, Underworld, Day After Tomorrow, Ratatouille, Die Hard 4... There are so many movies in Blu-ray that will put your subwoofers to good use. Did you have to turn down the volume at all?

I was only listening to it at -24 db (0=75db on my calibration) so pretty low compared to my normal but it was a beast!

Yeah, I had to turn down the volume in my Panasonic BD player (each speaker volume -6dB) when I watched Hellboy since it's too much hassle to turn down the volume of each of my four preamps.:D

But that Hellboy soundtrack was really strong.

I have never watched a HD DVD soundtrack that totally impressed me!
Overall, I am very impressed with Blu-ray's movie soundtracks and slightly disappointed w/ HD DVD's movie soundtracks.

I saw Hellboy for the first time yesterday, and my very first impression was exactly the same - wow, what bass! I just have the SD DVD, but I was very happy with it.
