i think i remember reading somewhere that there is a "minimum sound level" that speakers should be played. meaning, if you go lower than that level it's somehow "not good" for the drivers or something. not sure if that really make sense. opinions?

It won't hurt anything but your ears will tell you when they reach that magic level where they sound good to you.

As long as you can hear and enjoy them at low levels, they will be fine. A good speaker will sound nice/enjoyable at
different types of levels. The key is to not over-drive them, and your ears should be able to pick that up.

The "not good for the drivers" comment sounds questionable. I wouldn't worry about it.

Pretty sure that myth is total nonsense. There is no such thing. You can listen to 30-50dB and use less than 1W of power all day long if you want and the drivers will be 100% happy. Too little power will not damage your speakers.

Now there is such a thing is a MAXIMUM SPL that your speakers can handle before damage. Too much power can damage your speakers thermally and mechanically.

the only one who answered my question lol. thanks.
No, not really, but he may be the only one that worded it simply enough for you to understand it. Now we know what the "D" stands for in your moniker.
