hdmic-cec disable

I just hooked up a sony blue ray player to my sony tv. The Directv remote now will not turn on/off tv or directv receiver. I read the hdmi-cec needs to be disabled. How do i do that?

Each manufacturer makes up their own trade name for HDMI-CEC. Sony's is called BraviaLink (on Bravia models at least). There should be an option in the TV menu to turn it on or off.

Likewise for the BluRay player.
