Hdmi Zone 2 Marantz sr6013 Arc

Quick question on Zone 2 and Hdmi. I have a marantz sr6013. I am trying to get the zone 2 to play while my Arc tv connection is the source. Trying to use an onkyo 717 as an amp for speakers b/surround. I have the front and height going to a pair of klipsch rp280fa. Subs are fine. Does anyone use another receiver as zone 2 amp for a/v, not just music? If so, please help with ports, menu option order.

You have a full set of pre out, why not just use the surround back channels from those to the onkyo?
Zone 2 is probably not synched to the main zone anyway.

Looking at the back of the 6013 it has dedicated pre-outs for zone 2 you could easily use another avr as an amp with. Not sure that will resolve what your zone 2 issue is, just what is the problem wihen you try and use zone 2, tho? How are you using zone 2 now? You have what speaker setup in main zone? How did you connect zone 2 before?

Let's say this is all new. Hdmi from Arc never went through zone 2. My setup is Internet>Tv Arc Channel>Marantz6013 Arc>Zone 2 rca is the only audio that i have successfully played through zone 2.

Zone 2 can be restricted from certain digital content....thank drm (digital rights managment) concerns. Analog input is not unusual to be needed to use in zones....
