I was at Tweeters today & one of the salesman told me that a customer returned the Denon 3806 due to the 3806 not switching between the HDMI inputs like it should. Does anybody have any experience with this issue? They were trying to sell me a Rotel and the Mits 1080P TV with 2 built-in HDMI instead of my planned 3806 and a different 720P rear projection TV.

And there you have it.

I have not heard anything but good about the 3806. My bets are on "User Error" when it comes to the 3806 that was returned. That is one of the benifits of going to a custom AV shop instead of a big chain store. The sales staff and installers tend to have better tech support, and could have probably fixed that problem over the phone.

Rotel is a great product. So is Mits. But I do not agree with most of his statment. (Check out some of the new TV's that have better than 720P resolution. Samsung, Sony etc..)

Side Note: (1) 3806 being returned does not make a trend. So to advise some one over 1 return is crazy. These sales guys some times.

the HDMI problem

Several providers, (cable companies) do not have copy protection output with their HDMI signal from their boxes, thus the reciever can't handle it and won't. Had this problem with the 4806. As far as 720p and not getting a 1080p set, are you serious? The 1080's look great, the samsung 78 series is breath taking.
