have a Pioneer digital home theater amp with 4 hdmi out puts, i have a Panasonic blu-ray DMP-bd81 with 0ne Hdmi out put, and the only other out put connection is ethernet connection to my moderm . I also have a Humax hdr - fox free view player/recorder . I need to connect the 3 hdmi out puts to my Hitachi P50TPO1U A. on my TV I have only 1 HDMI input. I have bought a portta 3x1 HDMI switcher which will connect to my TV. Will I be able to play my blu-ray and amplifier together through the splitter together so I receive blu-ray quality on my TV and surround sound through my Amp and 5 speaker system with a sub woofer. I am trying to set this up for my mother as her dvd home theater system has broken down and I have replaced it with my pioneer digital amp' I have also recently bought the blu-ray system to work in unison with the amp and TV. question will this work and if not how can i get it to work ? I look forward to hearing your replies / Thank You !

Welcome to the forum!

What Pioneer amp do you have? You say that it has four HDMI outputs, but I'm guessing those are actually inputs. Most people will connect the HDMI outputs from their sources (e.g. your blu-ray player and Humax HDR) into their receivers, and then connect the one HDMI output from the receiver to their TV. I think that will be possible, but please let us know the model number of that Pioneer so that we can help you get this set up.

Adam is correct, you should not need a switch with that receiver because the receiver IS the switch.
