HDMI Passthrough with higher than 1920x1080?

Hi,

I am starting to look for parts to put together a small media center, and I have some questions about displays. I am not totally set on what receiver I am getting, but I am planning on getting one with HDMI pass-through. And I am planning on getting a computer LCD display rather than an HDTV, because I don't want all of the extra things that come with a TV. Plus, I don't want something really big. I'm living in a smallish apartment, so I really just want to get like a 24" monitor.

So my question: does HDMI pass-through allow me to have a direct connection with my display, as if there was nothing in between? For example, I have a media center pc, and I want it to be able to use the native resolution of the screen if I get one that is not 1920x1080. I will also be using my receiver to switch with a PS3. I've done some searching/reading on these forums, and people have said that the signal is "untouched," but I wanted to confirm that I could actually use it for different/higher signals than 1920x1080 (possibly 1920x1200).

Thanks,
thetaconman
