HDMI Locking Adapter

Prompted by a user on another Forum, I ordered a couple of these.

Several months ago I had a problem with a 15M DVIgear HDMI cable. The cable connector end on my SSP broke and since this was a long In-wall/ceiling run to my projector, it was a real PITA to replace. AH store was very good about a return credit and I am now using Impact Acoustics cables (also purchased from the AH Store). To avoid this issue in the future, I found the above referenced locking adapter.

These connectors make you HDMI connections bullet proof and if you have long or expensive HDMI’s, they are a great safeguard.

Some things to note, they are sold as a pair (two connectors to a box). I ordered two boxes and only needed the two you see in the photo.

The threads on the supplied chassis screws were the wrong thread for my Integra. I was able to use the Integra SSP chassis screws so no issues. Blue Echo Solutions was very helpful to me and seem willing to answer any questions and help resolve problems.

I posted these a few months back. Seems like a worth while product, though the price is still a bit steep for them.

In my case, it was a $275 DVIGear cable purchased here that broke. I was lucky that Audioholics Store gave me a credit under warranty, but the cable replacement cost me a lot of time and hassle.

From that perspective, the $20 was well worth the peace of mind.

BTW, I had tried a Monoprice HDMI cable of that length and it would not passs 1080P video. It was under $100 and worked fine with my old 720P projector.

I think that is what the conclusion was in the thread I had as well, that if you broke a cable or damaged a piece of gear, the $20 is a little insurance policy that could save you a LOT more money
