Hdmi/dvi Or Component Hookup?

Question

my tv Panasonic 42"plasma has an hdmi input and my digital cable box a dvi

when i hook up my denon 1920 player
am i better off using hdmi (dvd to tv)
or dvi-hdmi from c(able box to tv)?....................since the tv only has a single hdmi input and my reciever has not

obviously i would use component video cable for one of them to display

right now i have only a hdmi/dvi cable which im using for the cable box
that would go to waste if i hook up dvd player and id have to buy a new hdmi/hdmi cable for the dvd?

which hookup should i use?
will i notice the difference with component cables for denon dvd?

Both cables pass digital video that a plasma can use without further signal processing. So, I would think that would be the best way to pass video signals to such a TV, Plasma, LCD, etc, not for electron beam scanned tubes though.

Why not try out both options?

It also depends on the amount of HD material that you get over cable. If you watch a lot of HD stuff over cable by all means use the digital interconnect there and component for the DVD player (which never receives HD content but can possibly try to turn it into virtual HD).
