I am looking for suggestions for a receiver...

I am going to buy a large LCD RPTV with HDMI, and want a receiver that can make the most of it.....

I like Denon, but do they have anything that supports HDMI for $1000? If not, then any other suggestions?

Thanks!

No, not yet. The only receivers by Denon that offer HDMI is the 5805 and 4806. Both are well over $1000. Within the next year, most of the receivers will offer HDMI hookups. Yamaha may be the first out with a sub $1000 receiver with them. Keep your eyes pealed.

It seems like the only announced receiver that meets your criteria is from JVC. The RX-D401 promises HDMI switching for under $600... And should hit the streets in Aug.

I'm guessing we will see all the big players (Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo, etc) start to bring hdmi to the masses over the next year.

What about the Panasonic SR-70? I thought it featured HDMI switching - not sure of the # of inputs, though.

Their website doesn't say, but looking at the (small) picture of the back panel, it looks like one input and one output...
