Hello All,

My Sony VPL-HS51 projector does not like the Pioneer VSX-74TXVi receiver when connected through HDMI. The porjector keeps on switchiing its modes trying to find the ritght one and after several seconds and screen flickers it gives up. The mometary picture is distorted and "fuzzy." Does anyone have similar problem or know the solution? Please help!

Thanks Much,
drkorg

I listen with my mouth open...
Video feeds only need to go to the TV so there isnt HDCP issues which do arise at time and only the audio needs to go to the receiver. Less connections possible, the better!!

Yeah the convenience of hooking up all components to the reciever and sending video from the reciever to the display are long gone with HDMI 1.1 or older. Why would you want to use the HDMI switching of the reciever anyway? That's just silly! It's only a $500 dollar premium over last years model, brag up the HDMI switching even if it's useless.

I remember way back in '98 hooking up my DVD player, VHS player, N64 and playstation to the reciever and everything worked just fine. Video on the TV, surround sound in full effect. What a pain.

I can't stand this whole HDMI thing. It's just for copyright protection or perhaps an HTPC. Who needs a 5.1 signal sent to display device? Gimme a DVI and toslink any day.

Toslink add capability for HD sound yet?

I just paid for hdmi switching....
hoepfully not too much of a premium...but in studying av reviews.. it seemed the concensus was to have hdmi, and switching capabilities...
I sitll have lots to learn...
but I have noticed blackouts in my video, while audio continues uninterupted..
Last night I changed auto input setting to coax on the receiver, and I do believe the blackouts have stopped.... possibly a solution to hdmi issues....
for some
