does the HDMI cable actually matter? i need at least a 20ft cable to connect to my Ultra 4K TV and they are expensive.

The longer the cable, the more critical it becomes but you don't have to spend a fortune. Check out Blue Jeans cables or those from Monoprice.

As mentioned by markw but you say at least 20ft. Could that be closer to 30 ft?
20 ft is not that needy but on the border.

I use the Redmere cables from Monoprice without issue. Just remember if you buy this cable it is directional and must be installed in the correct direction or it will not work. This is what I use.
