HDMI Cables ... booster needed??

We just installed a Mitsubishi HC 5500. We connected the HDMI cable to the unit and it keeps flickering and the picture only comes on for a few seconds. We keep getting a message on the screen saying No Signal. Would this be the HDMI cable? The one we have it 50ft long. Would a booster help? Thanks for any help!

There's not a good answer for this, but there are some options.

1. Try to lower your resolution to 480i, 480p, 720p, or 1080i instead of 1080p and see if that helps.

2. Replace the cable - it is unlikely at 50' that you need a booster.

3. Try a CAT-5 solution. For whatever reason, you get better distances via CAT-5 than you do with HDMI.

4. Try using a local source directly to the projector to ensure that the source/projector works together.

5. Try connecting the source directly to the projector. If you are using a 50' HDMI cable, but it is connected to a receiver, and the HD source is connected to the receiver, then you have something between things. Try a direct connection.

What brand/products/cable are you using?

@ 50 feet you probably will need a booster. What type of cable are you using? Some cables from BlueJeans have reported good for those type of long runs.

Nice R1 Cruise Missile, I have an 04 R1 and 06 MV Agusta.

Most likely, take a look at the dvi-73 70 from dvi gear. It's the size of a box of matches, however it goes near the pj and it needs power. Hope this helps.http://www2.dvigear.com/hdmi-extender-01.html
It also costs $150.

Which is why the other solutions make more sense and then replacing the HDMI cable with CAT-5 makes a lot of sense as well.

$20...

Heck, a replacement 50' cable is only $54.

I've personally tested my PS3 at 85' using Monoprice HDMI cables @ 1080p, but others results may vary.
