I have an above entry level DVD Blue Ray player, and feel I should buy a good quality HDMI cable, any suggestions? Thanks!

How long do you need it to be? If it's not more than 1-2 meters, don't bother spending a lot. Make sure it's HDMI 1.4 compliant but other than that, don't worry about it. The expensive ones screw up just like the cheap ones.

There are any number of discussions on cables on these forums, but it boils down to the same thing: A quality cable is a quality cable no matter how much or how little it costs.

I'm a big supporter of quality cables - and I recommend Monoprice.com just as the prior poster did.

Their 'premium' HDMI cables are especially nice with their 'net jacket' on it.

At under 10 bucks, it's the way to go for a very well built cable.

You should read the article that starts at:

With a short HDMI cable, you can go cheap and it will not make any difference. It is only if the cable is long (greater than about 4-5 meters [that's meters, not feet]) that it will start to matter.

Expensive wires are, for the most part, just a scam in audio and video.

I recommend monoprice as well, with blue jeans coming in a very close second, only due to price.

I use mono's premium hdmi, or what ever they call there top o the line cable. I have 2 16 foot runs, one for cable, the other for blu-ray. I think the picture is fantastic. I have done some comparisons with othere cables, which were shorter and could not see a difference.

There premium cables are VERY stiff, so keep that in mind.

I would have gone with the BJC myself, but if you have a good picture, then you'll be fine.

From suggestions of people on this forum, I used Monoprice to buy the last pair of audio stereo RCA interconnects I bought for running from my CD changer to receiver; they were a great price and have a very nice heft and build to them, as well made as any Monster interconnect I've used or seen. They're gold plated as well, and I have had no issues with them thus far. As for audio quality differences? I just don't hear it, really, between the Monoprice RCA interconnects and the Monster interconnects I had in place before them...
