Hi i tried searching thru the forums but i guess i have bad searching skills so here's my problem

i just got an hdmi cable from dvi and i hooked it up to my samsung dvdrecorder/upconverter to my samsung1080p tv the picture is amazing didnt think upconverting would look good but anyway the audio drops about every 10 seconds for like a fraction of a second and comes back... kinda like watching tv and someones swearing a lot (except you dont hear the "beep")

so whats the problem? any solutions? this sucks cuz i really like the picture quality and i was about to pick up a PS3 and i dont wanna be stuck with the same problems on it ;/

If you had another HDMI cable or HDMI source, then you could determine if the source, the cable, or the TV is the problem.
For an interim fix, you could use the Red/White RCA connections from the DVD player to the TV for audio and the HDMI for video. A digital optical or coax audio cable might also work depending on the available connections on your TV.

Monoprice has some inexpensive audio and HDMI cables that have worked well on my system.
