I ran a 60 HDMI cable connected my cable box it gave me audio and video. Then connected my blue ray player also and got audio and video. Now when I connect my RX-2020 Yamaha to the same HDMI run at 50 feet the TV blinks with the HDMI indicator on the front display of the RX-2020. Blue screen then black screen. Hooked up a 150 foot HDMI repeater still blinks with black screen. Why can I play my other two components and not my state of the art RX2020 YamahA? Somebody help!

I suspect your cable box and BD player are connected to a TV and work. Is that correct? Now you have to understand HDCP codes and repeater architecture.

A TV is and end device and is only required to make and initial handshake. A receiver is a receiving and transmitting deice and must make continuous and repeated handshakes.

An HDMI run of only 25 is recommended. With a bidirectional booster 50 ft is at the point were it may or may not work.

These active HDMI cables are claimed to go 75 ft. However as with all things HDMI results may vary. You best bet is to shorten up the cable run with a different design locating equipment in a more sensible location. HDMI stands for Home Media Digital Interface. 60 ft is a long way for a domestic situation.

The OP must take the sound advice from Monoprice and check the cable before installation. They claim a distance of up to 65 ft. Translation: - may not go to 65 ft. At 60 ft, he is close to the upper limit.

This is not the fault of Monoprice, as units especially receivers vary in HDMI output power and sensitivity to the handshakes over a wide range.

I used a dual CAT6 STP appropriate HDMI extenders for a 75 foot run that worked great. All from Monoprice. These are powered devices however.

That is the pro way of doing it, and is probably his most reliable option although the most complex.

I Yamaha will play nice to 50 feet, then they simply do not like and have trouble maintaining voltage. Vanco was making 75, 100 and 125 HDMI that had a small amp in the middle which helped maintain 5v, and worked well. I would contact a local AV company and see if they can get one. If not it going to need to be a cat5/6 & balun run. If you need more specifics let me know.
