Greetings:

My HTPC has ATI HD2600 pro AGP video card and when I connected to my HDTV (that doesn't have HDMI or DVI connector) it gives me a message that my device is not HDCP compatible or something like that.

I read on the internet that even if HD2600 models were advertised as HDCP compatible in reality they don't, so I was thinking to buy a newer model HD4350 or HD4650.

My question is, if I buy the newer model, will I still have the HDCP error because of my non HDMI tv???

Regards.

If you are trying to play retail BluRay disks using PowerDVD/WinDVD without hdmi connection - you are out of luck and to do so you'll need hdmi compatible tv or get movies from other sources ;)

But you planning to change a video card, make sure to get hd5xxx series card as It unlike 4xxx series card fully supports hd video and hd audio pass-thru.

Well I guess I'll need AnyDVDHD after all.
