HDCP 2.2

Yes, I have done all my homework. But have a question. All of my new hardware (i.e. 4K 3DTV, UHD player, receiver) are HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. While my current HDMI cables are 1.4 and I have purchased newer cables, until I am able to install the new cables (40' through wall) can I get by with the HDMI 1.4?

HDMI cables aren't designated with hdmi version numbers, they're rated by speed/capacity. Are you getting some sort of active hdmi cable for the 40' length? What did you purchase?

I have some bad news for you:

Also max speed of only 10gbps indicates it's not top speed cables, as hdmi 2.0 top bandwidth is 18gbps

The good news is you bought these as prime or "fulfilled by amazon" you should able to return these, maybe even with free shipping - just put a cause of malfunctioning product.

I delved into the Amazon reviews and stopped when I saw that it was "directional" but not active.....hadn't seen that fakespot site before....needs more audio products!

Nice to know about fakespot.

As for Monoprice, I used their active HDMI Cables, I have about 12+ of them. I had one go bad, but their customer service was top notch and had a replacement cable in a only a few days. I will never buy high priced HDMI Cables.

Why spend almost 4x the amount for a questionable passive cable instead of the Monoprice active cable? Active is usually the way to go for 30 ft plus runs....http://www.hdmi.org/installers/longcablelengths.aspx
