This is my first post on this site. I have a first generation 55" 16x9 Mitsubishi Platinum projection TV. It only has 1 HD, DTV channel and several component inputs (non-HD) and S-Video, VGA inputs. I bought a JVC HM-DH40000U D-VHS player recorder and a Time Warner (Bright House Networks) Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3100HD cable box (for ordering VOD, PPV, etc). I am trying to figure out how to hook these two components together for maximum usefulness. Can it be hooked up to be able to record HD video? I cannot seem to get the D-VHS to control the cable box. The cable box has an IR input (output?) and the D-VHS has an IR output (for a "flasher"). Can I just plug the two boxes together? My A/V pre-processor (Anthem AVM-20) and has only two component (HD-capable) input "switches".... it also has switches to turn on or off components (my power conditioner and amplifier). Also, it has IR controllers. So, I'm starting to wonder how best to hook these components together. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,
Brian
