HD DVD players

Does anyone have some advice on whether getting an HD/upconverting DVD player is worth it for a fixed pixel display (DLP?)

just me talking here... I wouldn't sink a whole ton of money into a new DVD player now (unless you don't already have one), since there are going to be new formats out before the end of the year..

if you can make do till then, I'd plan on getting the nice one then..

Well, I tried the toshiba HDMI upconverting DVD player with my DLP and was unimpressed. Not only is the picture quality no better than the other pro-scan component cable DVD players I've used, but the actual player and remote are lousy. I've heard that the Samsung fares no better.
