HD-DVD Laptop Upconvert DVD?

Ive been using my HD-DVD drive on my laptop to watch HD movies. My question is will this upconvert my standard dvd's or will they still be 480i? I have it connected via HDMI and i have the display resolution set to ????x1080. I cant remember the first # but I remember the last was 1080.

Hmmm, I'll take a guess. I'll bet the answer depends on your laptop. Not all hardware is built the same, so just because it has an HD-DVD drive doesn't mean that it will or will not upconvert a SD DVD.

Of course, I've been amazingly wrong in the past...
