Hello All. I installed a HDBaseT transmitter and receiver over Cat 6 cable because my installed Highspeed HDMI 15M cable did not pass 36 bit Deep Color.
I purchased the new OPPO BDP-95 Bluray player and attempted selecting the HDMI option of 36 bit deep color only to have the screen flash and go frizzy.

I did not want to just replace the cable with another cable that was active. $$$
instead, research led me to HDBaseT. The installation was seamless. This allows me the flexibility of sending HDMI, Etc. over Cat 6 cable installed in my walls!!

Thus far pretty cool technology

Nice. What companies products did you use? I transmit all of my audio/video through my house using cat5 baluns but am doing it with component and digital audio as the matrix switches with this tech are still very expensive.

I Used HDTV Supply.com. The lead engineer was very helpful. The Baluns allow you to send HDMI 1080p 48bit deep color, rs232, ir and ethernet 100mbps. I would love to eventually add a 8X8 Matrix over Cat 5e/6 But as you said the switchers are quite expensive.

Happy switching :)
