got a onkyo tx-sr 605 reviever and trying to hook it up to an HD-a2 dvd player.
Tons of varying info out there about proper hookups and settings so i am not 100% I have the best settings. To get True HD sound, it is my belief that i should have the HD-a2 set to bitstream. But then i also read that the HD-a2 needs to be set to PCM to get it. So i have no idea anymore. As far as I can tell, both the player and the reciever have Tuehd capabilities.
Its connected with an HDMI cable. Is there anyone familiar with this setup process. I would like to know how to optimize this setup. Any help would be welcome. I have asked smiliar questions on this forum before and have got some great responses and felt I finally got it, but I am starting to get confused again
