HD A-20 hdmi to dvi????

I have an older DLP that does not have HDMI input so I'm using the component its display shows 1080i with this setup I was curious as to the pq with the hdmi to dvi connection but the display menu shows no signal when I connect am I missing something I never tried anything else in this dvi input so I am not 100% sure that it works,but everything else works just fine.Thanks in advance for any thoughts...

i don't know. but maybe this will help.

i have a dvi to hdmi cable for my computor monitor. it works perfectly fine. i understand that the signals are the same, just different connectors.

Leave the component cable as you would not notice a difference.
