Having trouble with soundbar...

Hello, I have been trying to figure out a solution to a problem I have been having for the past year and finally gave up and decided to ask people much more knowledgeable then me. The problem I am having is I have a soundbar connected to my Xbox One through the Optical cable and my Xbox One is connected to my TV through HDMI. My Xbox is also connected to my Comcast DVR, so when I am on HDMI Channel 1 all sound plays through the soundbar which is great. My problem is when I switch to HDMI Channel 2 (and I have an HDMI Switcher as well to give me more options) the soundbar does not work and I have to use the TV stereo.

My soundbar is a Samsung PS-WJ450 and has an HDMI and Optical out.

My TV is a Samsung un60eh6003f which has two HDMI slots (I have a HDMI Switcher on channel2) and no ARC HDMI or Optical plug. Unfortunately the TV is very basic and at the time of purchase I did not realize what I really needed on it in terms of ports and what not. I understand there may be no possible way to get the soundbar to also work on Channel 2 however if there is a way to make it would I would be very grateful. Thank you.

I’m sorry but that’s really confusing. We’ll probably have to see a wiring diagram of your system to make any sense of it.

I have attached a crude drawing of my setup, now keep in mind I do not have any HDMI ARC plugs on my TV.

According to the manual on the soundbar your connections should either be

DVR and Xbox One->HDMI Switcher->Soundbar->TV All with HDMI.

OR

DVR->Xbox One->Soundbar->TV all with HDMI. The Xbox One should be able to play regular TV with the guide, I'm just not sure how the DVR function would work since I don't use my Xbox like that.

Your soundbar should have HDMI in and out which makes all this pretty easy to set up.
