Having some buyers remorse. Don't know what to do

So I just purchased this whole set few days ago and it is still brand new in box. After doing some research on this forum, it seems like ML aren't recommended or even considered one of the better companies. It seems like everyone shoves ML products under the rug (kind of like Bose).

Receiver: Pioneer VSX-70 7.2 channel 80W
Front: Martin Logan Center channel motion 8 & 2 motion 4 bookshelf speaker
Rear ceiling: Martin Logan ElectroMotion 6.5 in ceiling
Sub: Martin Logan 10" Dynamo 700W

(~$2800 without receiver)

I am debating if I should return everything except for the receiver and get a whole new system. My living room is about 17x11 and my ceiling to floor is about 9 ft. It is a bit small so I am looking to do a whole in wall sound system with only the center speaker and subwoofer exposed.

Idea of how my living room looks like:

I am thinking about returning my Martin Logan system and get either:

A) 4 Klipsch 5650 for in wall and in ceiling speakers and Klipsch RC-52 center speaker and Klipsch SW-112 subwoofer. (~$2500)

B) Paradigm AMS350 in wall front speakers
Paradigm center 3
Paradigm AMS-150SQ for in ceiling rears
Paradigm monitor sub 10

~$3500

Which one would you choose out of the 3? The ML, Klipsch or Paradigm setup.

Thanks

I don't know yet since the system is still brand new in box.

Well, what I was going to say is the only thing that should ever matter in a system is how much you enjoy it. All three systems you are looking at are radically different, the only way you're going to be able to pick what's best for you is to listen to them.

Subwoofer on the other hand, you can most certainly do better for your dollar with an internet direct brand such as svs or hsu. It is not important to match the subwoofer to the rest of the speakers.

That ML system looks pretty weak. 4" woofers are not going to get you much dynamic range at all, and probably can not even give you a reasonably full range down below 80 Hz, which is where you typically want to crossover to your subwoofer. I would return the ML. The Paradigm and Klipsch system's don't look bad, except, as Grador mentioned, the subwoofers. I would definitely get a sub from a manufacture direct sub company. Hsu, Rythmik, Outlaw are a few good ones.

Heres the issue, you may unbox that stuff and find your self "satisfied", but you can do a lot better for your money.... Do you have to buy this locally, is it on a best buy card or something like that? If not I would seriously consider going a different route..

$2800
HSU-vtf2 $600
for your fronts you have a ton of options, PSB T6's with the c5 center will only cost you $1375 then add any of their built in speakers cw60r, cw88r, ect for your surrounds, and still be way under budget... http://www.designeraudiovideo.com has good prices on psb stuff..

Ascend, Emp, HSU, SVS, ect. Will offer the greatest value to sq ratio, but ordering is not in person so, you dont get to cash and carry, but you do get 30 days trials, more for your money, often no tax charged and free shipping, personal customer service, ect...

I love ascend and HSU for HT stuff, they IMO are the best value out there, I have demo'd many systems and that is what I went with... Appearance for my HT system wasnt a big deal breaker since its just a living room, and only my family uses it for the most part, so the vinyl coverings and black satin finishes weren't an issue...

When ever I see someone leaning towards ml's I always think that maggie offers a better "similar" product, I recently listened to the entire line and even the innexpensive mmg's were very nice, although they don't dig deep, with ht you are going to cross to a sub anyway, so no need for a speaker that is accurate down low because you will never ask it to go there, kind of like buying a car that goes 200mph when you will never break 120...

Ever since I heard the T2's and the PSB mini's I am hooked, I like these speakers a lot, PSB never really interested me much since I am not a hard tweeter fan but Ill tell you what, they do it well, the T2's have such a nice sound, and the minis are amazing for their size, although imo expensive for their size too... They may be onto something with these small with big sound units, lol... The t6's and the smaller one {maybe a t5? I forget} are also impressive for the price point...

I'll heartily second this. No matter which route you go for the speakers, I'd highly recommend looking at Hsu, PSA, or SVS for the subwoofer.

Thanks for the reply guys. I appreciate it. I will be returning my whole system and keep my Pioneer VS-70 receiver.

I will most likely purchase the Rythmik LV12R.

I wish I have enough space for the towers but since I am remodeling my whole living room, I am looking for a cleaner look by going with in wall speakers and in ceiling speakers.

I am really leaning towards Paradigm. After doing some research on them, a lot of people highly recommend their in wall speakers. Which one should I go with? They have so many...

Pull the main pair out and listen to them. Surest way to know. As long as you don't damage them, most places will take them back.

I responded earlier but the post didn't get approved yet. Very strange.

But I am looking primarily for in wall speakers since my whole living room area is getting remodeled. I have a chance to cleanly install in wall speakers. Not only that, I don't have a lot of room and would want a cleaner look.

There is such a huge selection of paradigm in wall speakers. Which one do I go with? I already decided to go with the SVS subwoofers.

If I read correctly he was going with in walls on everything but the center and sub.....that is not easy to trail...

I do not know much about in wall. However the little I do, is that they cost a fortune and perform very poorly for the dollar. Unless you are forced to to the inwall route I would not do it. No bang for the buck on those options.

Correct. I am looking for a in wall setup minus the center speaker and subwoofer.

I understand they won't perform as well as the towers but I don't have a lot of room in the living room for towers. Plus, I want a cleaner look. I don't mind paying a bit more.

If you go in-wall on the L/R you should go in wall for the center too. It's always best to keep the front three as close as possible.

Thank you, I didn't know that.

I will be getting the Paradigm AMS-LCR for the L/R. What should I get for the center? I don't really see anything on their lineup for a center in-wall speaker.
