Having a problem w/ my RX-V2500...

I was watching a movie the other day, volume wasn't cranked super high or anything, and my center speaker started cutting out. At first I thought I hit the mute button, but that wasn't it. I switched to a DSP mode to refresh the signal going to the speaker and it started working again, but sure enough a few minutes later it starts cutting out again. So I turned everything off and checked my connections, they were fine, but I rethreaded my banana plugs just incase. I put my hand on top of the unit to see if it was running really hot, and it wasn't. My receiver sits on the top shelf with a good 1.5 - 2 ft clearance on top and 8 - 9 inches on each side. After checking that stuff, I turned it back on and it was working fine for the rest of the movie. Then earlier today, it started happening again while I was watching TV. That automatically eliminates the DVD player and cable box as causing the problem. So I figured maybe it was my center speaker. I switched the center out for another speaker, and the other speaker had the same problem, so this must be a problem w/ the receiver. I've found from playing around w/ it that whenever the sound goes out, if I switch to a DSP mode or change the decoder, put on THX post-processing, or anything that recycles the signal it will start working for a bit before cutting out again. I just e-mailed Yamaha a few minutes ago, but I wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas as to what would could be causing the problem.
